I thought that since you may not know me I would include a page giving you some idea as to my qualifications for writing software.  I’m sure you would want to know if I just bought a P.C. a couple of months ago and started writing software.  So the following is a resume.  Now you can decide if you think I’m qualified to prepare serious racing software.

Responsibilities          

·        Provide systems and DBA support for DB2, CICS and FOCUS.  Setup and maintain interconnection of DB2 subsystems on three different machines as well as access from desktop.  Install new versions of software.  Installation and evaluation of new software.  Define and move student data into data warehouse on SQL-Server on NT platform, from DB2/MVS.  Provide lead DBA support to SAP project.  Provide access to centralized data across platforms through various software front ends using ODBC and CLI technology.  Provide database design support to applications groups.

Accomplishments       

·        Set up DDCS/AIX to access DB2/MVS via LU6.2, later upgraded to DB2 Connect using TCP/IP.  Updated a C program on AIX, which had been using FTP to get rows back from DB2/MVS, then displaying the results to the web, to use DB2 Connect and Net.Data to get the rows cutting access time to less than 1/12.  Wrote several tp type applications using data both external and internal to Microsoft Access.  Set up desktop machines to get DB2/MVS data into Microsoft Office products on desktops, using CAE and DB2 Connect.  Did database design for student information for warehouse project.  Set up process to move DB2/MVS data into SQL-Server warehouse using both DB2 Connect and FTP. Set up DB2 subsystems to use DDF (distributed data facility).  Taught customers to access warehouse data in SQL Server from tools on their desktop.  Initial install of FOCUS/MSO.  Designed and built menu interface for FOCUS.  Maintained CICS security through RACF.  Maintained security for DB2 and other mainframe data.   Wrote Lotus Notes application, called client profile, to display, update and insert data into tables on DB2 – OS/390 from Lotus Notes application.  Did database design for client profile project.  Provided support to SAP project by acting in both Basis and DBA roles.  Provided system support for CICS.  Provided system and DBA support for DB2.  Wrote ASM (automated software management), software designed to maintain mainframe applications.  Did database design for ASM project.

Responsibilities          

·        Provide support for over 100 CICS regions, the software running on them and the customers using them.  Provide support for DB2 connections.

Accomplishments       

·        Helped install and implement new version of CICS.  Most of time was spent supporting customers on CICS; defining transactions and programs, requesting authorization, debugging abends and system dumps.  Installed software for credit card charge dispute system.  Wrote a few small Rexx execs for use by technical staff on VM.

Responsibilities          

·        Lead in-house conversion effort from in-house-developed tp monitor and database on VSE to CICS and DB2 on MVS.  Helped in effort to bring up new MVS system under VM.  Install and evaluate performance monitors for MVS, CICS, and DB2.  Set up initial RACF environment.  Set up initial DB2 environment.

Accomplishments       

·        Helped install and configure first MVS system at First Federal.  Installed DB2 and CICS on MVS for the first time.  Configured and maintained entire RACF environment for MVS, CICS transactions, DB2, and all datasets.  Designed and implemented plan for authorizing DB2 tables.  Selected and implemented performance monitors for MVS, CICS, and DB2.

·        Providing systems support for VSE and CICS and all software that runs on them.  Installing and testing new releases of both VSE and CICS and other software that runs under them.  Designing, testing and implementing disaster recovery plan.  Provide mainframe system support to customers, operators, and programming staff.  Maintain data in VSAM environment.

Accomplishments       

·        Designed and implemented disaster recovery plan which could restore system from 3 cards and master console.  Installed and implemented 1 new VSE system and 2 new versions of CICS.  Updated source editor that ran under CICS several times from supplied source code.  Installed new versions of Dynam-D disk management software.  Designed recovery procedure for VSAM files, in the event that even the catalog was destroyed.

 

Racing

·        I owned, drove and worked on a mini-sprint from 1985 – 1992

·        I owned and worked on a mini-sprint from 1992 – 1997

·        I owned and worked on go-karts from 1995 – 1997

·        I worked setting up a sprint car from 1998 – present

·        I own, work on a sprint car – now (see the link to #40 sprint car and the 00sprint page on the links page)

·        During this time I have also worked on IMCA modifieds, TQs, and other types of cars.
